Psematismenos village is located between the 3 main cities of Cyprus: Larnaka-Limassol-Nicosia. It is approximately 30 Km from Larnaka airport and 30Km from Limassol, 50Km from Nicosia and 2Km from the sea.
The history of Psematismenos can be traced back more than 600 years. The small, pretty village that has kept its character with very interesting vernacular architecture. It has two ancient churches, the Greek Orthodox church of Ayia Marina (Byzantine with additions in the 19th century). In the area you can find the Neolithic settlement in Chirokitia (3Km approx.), the Neolithic settlement in Kalavasos (3Km approx.), the "Angeloktisti" Byzantine church in Kiti (15Km approx.) and Zygi on the seaside with its famous fish taverns.
The village is surrounded by olive and citrus groves and agricultural land, which forms the basis of the local economy, it has charming cobbled streets and original village houses - many restored to retain their traditional charm. You will find that there are only so many locations which can combine the perfect balance between sea and mountain, antiquity and modern life attractions.
